Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is pleased to announce TONO x PAMMTV Selects, a program of shapeshifting video art screening across Mexico City, South Florida, and PAMMTV.
TONO x PAMMTV Selects will premiere during the 2024 TONO festival in Mexico City with a screening at the Centro de Cultura Digital on March 13. The twelve works featured in this program explore how bodies transform across virtual, natural, and supernatural worlds.
From the atomic to the cosmic and the cell to the pixel, the videos in TONO x PAMMTV Selects explore processes of metamorphosis. Spanning creatures constructed out of mud and bodies transformed through science, to digital avatars and bodies manipulated through rituals, the figures in these videos burst a discrete definition of a body. Here, bodies are material vessels as much as they are objects for imagination and groups. A body, from a river to a digital stream, is constantly in a state of flux.
Participating artists include Biarritzzz, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, Seba Calfuqueo, Leo Castañeda, Cristóbal Cea, Colectivo Ixqcrear, Edny Jean Joseph, (La)Horde, Carlos Motta, Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau, Agnes Questionmark, and Tania Ximena.
TONO x PAMMTV Selects will be on view through October 14, 2024 via the museum’s online streaming platform, PAMMTV.

El Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) se complace en anunciar TONO x PAMMTV Selects, un programa de arte en video en constante transformación que se exhibirá en la Ciudad de México, el sur de Florida y PAMMTV.
TONO x PAMMTV Selects se estrenará durante el Festival TONO 2024 en la Ciudad de México con una proyección física en el Centro de Cultura Digital el día 13 de marzo. Las doce obras presentadas en TONO x PAMMTV Selects exploran cómo los cuerpos se transforman en mundos virtuales, naturales y sobrenaturales.
De lo atómico a lo cósmico y de la célula al píxel, los vídeos en este programa exploran procesos de metamorfosis. Desde criaturas construidas con barro y cuerpos transformados por la ciencia, hasta avatares digitales y cuerpos manipulados mediante rituales, las figuras de estos vídeos hacen estallar una definición discreta de cuerpo. Aquí, los cuerpos son recipientes materiales tanto como objetos para la imaginación y los grupos. Un cuerpo, desde un río hasta una corriente digital, está constantemente en estado de flujo.
La duración de los vídeos varía entre dos y veinte minutos. El programa reúne obras de Biarritzzz, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley, Seba Calfuqueo, Leo Castañeda, Cristóbal Cea, Colectivo Ixqcrear, Edny Jean Joseph, (La)Horde, Carlos Motta, Simon(e) Jaikiriuma Paetau, Agnes Questionmark, and Tania Ximena.
