What does home look like in a city defined by constant arrival, departure, and exchange?
Across Miami and the Caribbean home is always in motion, from migration and environmental changes to redevelopment and technological transformation. Bringing together eight artists from South Florida, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Martinique, this collaborative exhibition between Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) and MIA Galleries examines how movement shapes heritage and home at the crossroads of the Americas.
Screening on PAMMTV, the museum’s auditorium, and MIAmi (Miami International Airport moving images) at Terminal J from November 10, 2026 – March 31, 2027, the videos on view show love that defies the borders of time, coastlines that reveal contested futures, neighborhoods in flux, carnival figures that invent their destiny, and dancing that bridges distant geographies. Artists including Samuel Suffren, Faren Humes, and Merián Soto illuminate cultural traditions that persist in the face of displacement and journeys across borders. Sandra Ramos, Los Carpinteros, and Ricardo Cabret render the social and environmental systems reconstructing our habitats and sense of hope. Julien Creuzet reimagines mythologies that set new histories in motion, meanwhile LIZN’BOW construct future landmarks seen from a virtual rollercoaster looping through Miami.
Together these video works from PAMM’s streaming platform reflect the realities of our region where movement is social, ecological, political, economic, and technological all at once. In South Florida and throughout the Caribbean, these artists reveal how to weather the tides that transform our ecosystem and each other.
