Quarta-Feira de Cinzas / Epilogue (Ash Wednesday / Epilogue), made in collaboration with artist Cao Guimarães, features ants as the central characters in a captivating narrative. Shot on Ash Wednesday, following the vibrant celebrations of Brazilian Carnaval, the video offers a meditative glimpse into the diligent labor of leafcutter ants as they navigate the challenging terrain of a forest floor, carrying colorful confetti to their underground nest.
Throughout the video, the ants collaborate to transport their loads, occasionally engaging in what appears to be conflict over the confetti. Some ants pause to rest, while others navigate steep mounds of soil. As the video concludes, the ants disappear into the darkness of their nest, perhaps preparing for a celebration of their own. This shift from the revelry of Carnaval to the communal world of the ants offers a poignant reflection on human interactions. The ants’ handling of the confetti, the remnants of joyous festivities, serves as a mirror to our own social dynamics, highlighting the intricate nature of communal labor and the delicate balance between cooperation and competition.

Quarta-Feira de Cinzas/Epilogue (Ash Wednesday/Epilogue), realizado en colaboración con el artista Cao Guimarães, presenta a las hormigas como los personajes centrales en una narrativa cautivadora. Filmado el miércoles de ceniza, tras las vibrantes celebraciones del Carnaval brasileño, el video ofrece una visión meditativa del laborioso trabajo de las hormigas cortadoras de hojas mientras navegan por el terreno desafiante del suelo del bosque, llevando confeti colorido a su nido subterráneo.
A lo largo del video, las hormigas colaboran para transportar sus cargas, ocasionalmente involucrándose en lo que parece ser un conflicto por el confeti. Algunas hormigas se detienen a descansar, mientras que otras navegan por montículos empinados de suelo. Al concluir el video, las hormigas desaparecen en la oscuridad de su nido, quizás preparándose para su propia celebración. Este cambio del jolgorio del Carnaval al mundo comunal de las hormigas ofrece una reflexión conmovedora sobre las interacciones humanas. El manejo del confeti por parte de las hormigas, los restos de las festividades alegres, sirve como un espejo de nuestras propias dinámicas sociales, destacando la naturaleza intrincada del trabajo comunal y el delicado equilibrio entre cooperación y competencia.
